FAQs: Solar Heating & Cooling

  • What is a SEER?

A SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) is a measure of cooling efficiency for air conditioners and heat pumps.  The higher the SEER, the more energy efficient the unit.  Our solar heating and cooling system operates above 35 SEER with only two solar panels connected.  Energy efficiency equates to lower electrical bills.

  • How does the unit function with little to no sunlight?

The unit uses as much solar energy as is available and any shortfall is obtained from utility power with no need for batteries. Even when the sun is not shining at all this ultra high-efficiency heat pump will keep you comfortable and save you money by using far less electricity than a normal AC or heat pump of the same capacity.

  • What energy tax credits are currently available?

Please consult your tax advisor as you may be eligible for a 30% Federal tax deduction.  State, local, and utility incentives may also be available.

  • How many square feet will the unit heat and cool?

Up to 750 sq. ft.

  • What colors are available?

Silver, Black, and Gold

  • How can I mount my solar photovoltaic (PV) modules?

1. Asphalt Shingle Roof Kit

2. Metal Roof Kit

3. Standing-Seam Roof Kit

4. Flat Roof Kit

5. Wall Mount Kit

6. Ground Mount Kit

  • What are the dimensions and weight of the indoor unit?

21 lbs.

  • What are the dimensions and weight of the outdoor unit?

30”x 11.2”x 23.2” (WxDxH)

95 lbs.

  • What are the dimensions and weight of each of the solar panels?

65”x 39”x 1.57” (LxWxT)

43 lbs.

  • Can the unit be controlled remotely?

Yes, the unit comes with a wireless remote control that will function the indoor unit up to a distance of 30 feet.

  • How can I mount my outdoor unit?
